Surgery Training

Wednesday 5 July 2017

In order to improve the service we provide for you - our patients - we will be closed on the afternoon of 5 July 2017 for training.

There is still an urgent service available should you need to access healthcare during the afternoon and if you do need NHS help during this time please call 0300 5555 252.

We have taken extra steps to make sure we can see as many patients as possible during the morning on the 5 July and we will be open again first thing on 6 July 2017.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused but hope that you can understand this activity, which will ensure we are able to provide you with the most up-to-date and best possible health services.

You may already be aware that Dr Byars and Dr Liston retired from The Park Surgery at the end of April 2017.

Dr Campbell, who has shared Dr Byars' list of patients will take over all of these patients from 1 May 2017.

The partners are in the process of appointing a GP to replace Dr Liston and the new GP should be in place by the Autumn.  In the meantime, if you have been registered with Dr Liston, you will be allocated a GP from the existing team of doctors who will look after you until the replacement GP has started at The Park Surgery.

From 1 May 2017 Dr Kimber will share his list of patients with Dr Jacqueline Anderson.  Dr Anderson has been working as a GP at a surgery in Torquay up until now and I am sure you will join us in welcoming her to The Park Surgery.

Online Services And SMS Texts And Emails

Patients can now request repeat prescriptions and will shortly be able to book and cancel appointments online. To register for the service you will need to come into the surgery and bring some photographic ID with you such as a passport or driving licence. When you have done this we will provide you with a user name and password to access the service.

We also intend to make use of SMS Texts for example to remind you of future appointments.  We would also like to send you emails when we need to invite you to an appointment, for example recall appointments and flu vaccinations.  Please make sure we have details of your mobile phone number and email address and that you consent to these being used.

Thank you

Arun Locality 'MIAMI' Clinics

A MIAMI clinic will be based at The Park Surgery over the next 3 months.

MIAMI stands for Minor Injury Assessment and Minor Illness and provides additional pre-bookable and same day urgent appointments between 1pm and 6pm Monday to Friday.

MIAMI clinicians can see patients with short term problems that:

  • have lasted no longer than 14 days; and
  • have not been seen by a GP previously.

If you are offered a MIAMI appointment and can travel to The Park Surgery, please do use the service.

Improvements to our building

The Doctors are pleased to tell all our patients about some exciting improvements that have been made to The Park Surgery premises.

Our new premises consist of additional consulting rooms, a new phlebotomy room, and a new minor injury unit.  On the second floor we will have additional office and meeting space.
