Patient questionnaire on new doctor list – The Park Surgery would like your views

The Park Surgery now looks after over 10,200 patients.  To be able to do this most effectively we have decided to increase the number of doctors available to see all our patients.  Great news!  Dr Tim Evans will be joining our highly skilled clinical team from October and will be accepting new patients.  This represents an opportunity for our doctors, who all run personal lists.  Each doctor would like to decrease their list size to ensure they can provide the best possible service to each patient registered with them.  Dr Tim Evans can accept some of these patients, alongside new patients to the practice.  But how do we decide who leaves which doctor and registers with Dr Evans?

GENERAL DATA PROTECTION REGULATION (GDPR)

You may have heard of the GDPR which replaces the Data Protection Directive and is designed to harmonise data privacy laws across Europe.  The GDPR comes into effect on 25 May 2018.  Please see the practice Data Information Leaflet which will give you information on how the practice uses health records; you will find this under the General Information tab.

CHANGES TO DOCTORS

 

DR ANDERSON

From 1 May 2017 Dr Kimber will share his list of patients with Dr Jacqueline Anderson.  Dr Anderson has been working as a GP at a surgery in Torquay up until now and I am sure you will join us in welcoming her to The Park Surgery.

 

DR DONSWIJK

Dr Sarah Donswijk joined the practice in November 2017 and has taken over Dr Liston's list of patients.  Dr Donswijk has been working as a GP in Bristol and, again, I am sure you will join us in welcoming her to The Park Surgery.

 

Online Services And SMS Texts And Emails

Patients can now request repeat prescriptions, and can book and cancel appointments online.  To register for the service you will need to come into the surgery and bring some photographic ID with you such as a passport or driving licence. When you have done this we will provide you with a user name and password to access the service.

We also make use of SMS Texts for example to remind you of future appointments.  We would also like to send you emails when we need to invite you to an appointment, for example recall appointments and flu vaccinations.  Please make sure we have details of your mobile phone number and email address and that you consent to these being used.

MIAMI CLINICS

Arun Locality 'MIAMI' Clinics

MIAMI stands for Minor Injury Assessment and Minor Illness and provides additional pre-bookable and same day urgent appointments.  At present this service is not available for The Park Surgery patients on Mondays to Fridays.  We will keep you updated when availability changes.

However, there are additional nurse led appointments available for Park Surgery patients on Saturdays from 10am to 2pm held fortnightly at Fitzalan Surgery.  At present the nurses will see patients for cervical smears or non-complex dressings.  Please ask the receptionist for details when booking your appointment.

 

 

 

Improvements to our building

PARK SURGERY PREMSISES

The Doctors are pleased to tell all our patients about some exciting improvements that have been made to The Park Surgery premises.

Our new premises consist of additional consulting rooms, a new phlebotomy room, and a new minor injury unit.  On the second floor we have additional office and meeting space.
